4th of July

What a week!  I got the Mad Science job and I start assisting/training on Monday!  I love my Mad Science lab coat!  Super cool!  The same day I woke up to my phone ringing with a job interview for next Tuesday!  Our house is getting cleaner and I have about six (maybe more) bags of clothes to sell/giveaway.  It's been quite the effort to limit my kids' clothes to a reasonable amount.  We have been lucky enough to have family and friends that have given us clothes, so we had a ton!  I still have to go through our clothes, but most of the kids are done!  We also got to see Despicable Me 2 with my sisters (thanks Kim)!  We all loved it!  Then we were invited to the fireworks at my brother and sister-in-law's house.  Fun times!  We didn't have much time after the movie, so I threw together a dip using all I had around the house. It was huge and yummy!  We ate it for another three days after the party!  Half of the kids got to ride in a canoe on their pond (not the younger half, which Leah cried about).  Then there were lots of fireworks.  Josh didn't like them, so I fed him and put him to bed.  At the end it was just Kira and I watching them, while everyone else was inside watching Winnie the Pooh.  The kids loved the parachutes and sparklers!  It was super late when we got home, but totally worth it!  We were recovering on Friday and then Saturday was cleaning again (they mess up fast)!  We have been discussing moving, and most of the kids are fine with it.  They all want out of this house (and I don't blame them).  I want out before the hornets/wasps start coming out again!  They did last summer, so I can assume it will probably happen again.
I'm super excited about this job interview.  It's my first real teaching interview and I'm going to be well-prepared!  Luckily, it's a phone interview, so I don't have to drive there!  Phew!  If I get the job, then we'll have to make enough money to move, plus get rid of all the extras that we don't need to move.  That's what I'll be working on this week!  Fun times!
Making peanut butter cookies without a recipe
Kira and Emma's turn on the canoe
 Josh playing in the grass
Josh and Scott with the sunset
 Watching the pond
Ben's turn on the canoe.  Can you see his grip on the boat?
Josh covering his ears during the parachute fireworks.
 Leah caught one!
So did Scott!  He gave it to...
 Cecilia, who was super excited!
Kira caught her own, but sadly she didn't stand very still while I took the picture.
